Distinguished Lecturer at University of Maine at Presque Isle
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The University of Maine at Presque Isle will host Marpheen Chann as its next speaker in the Libra Distinguished Lecturer Series on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. in the Campus Center’s Multi-Purpose Room and via Zoom.

In a time of great division and anger nationwide, how do we go about changing hearts and minds when it comes to issues like diversity, inclusion, and equity? In a 40 minute presentation followed by Q+A discussion, Maine politician, author and civil rights advocate Marpheen Chann shares his personal story of growing up in Maine, coming out to his religious adoptive family, and the lessons he's learned about how change can happen.
Elements Books: Immigrants in Public Service
On Thursday, July 24 from 6:00-8:00pm, join Islandport Press, Heart of Biddeford, and Biddeford Adult Education at Elements for Immigrant Solidarity Project: An Evening with Immigrants in Public Service.
This evening panel discussion will feature immigrants in public service who will share their stories, concerns, and hopes for the future of life in Maine and America.
A portion of proceeds from book and beverage sales will support Youth Full Maine's food security programs.
